Nereides: or Sea-Eclogues

By William  Diaper

Nereides, or Sea-Eclogues (1712) was republished in a handsome limited edition by Kolourmeim in 2003, with a fish-and-bubbles device by Shock-G.

Printed on exquisite blue paper, with blue wraps of handmade Indian paper, Nereides evokes its watery origins and is among the most aesthetically-ambitious editions Kolourmeim has ever produced. With the exception of a Complete Works of William Diaper published in 1952, this is the only full reprinting of Nereides since its original publication. A biographical note makes the case of Diaper’s worth, comparing him favorably to drearier Augustan Age poets like Pope and Dryden.
